FCCRFExposureInformation
ThismodelphonemeetstheU.S.Government'srequirementsforexposuretoradio
waves.
Thismodelphonecontainsaradiotransmitterandreceiver.Thismodelphoneis
designedandmanufacturednottoexceedtheemissionlimitsforexposuretoradio
frequency(RF)energyassetbytheFCCoftheU.S.Government.Theselimitsarepart
ofcomprehensiveguidelinesandestablishpermittedlevelsofRFenergyforthe
generalpopulation.Theguidelinesarebasedonstandardsthatweredevelopedby
independentscientificorganizationsthroughperiodicandthoroughevaluationof
scientificstudies.
Theexposurestandardforwirelessmobilephonesemploysaunitofmeasurement
knownastheSpecificAbsorptionRate(SAR).TheSARlimitsetbytheFCCis1.6W/
kg.TestsforSARareconductedusingstandardoperatingpositionsasacceptedby
theFCCwiththephonetransmittingatitshighestcertifiedpowerlevelinalltested
frequencybands.AlthoughtheSARisdeterminedatthehighestcertifiedpowerlevel,
theactualSARlevelofthephonewhileoperatingcanbewellbelowthemaximum
value.Thisisbecausethephoneisdesignedtooperateatmultiplepowerlevelsso
astouseonlythepowerrequiredtoreachthenetwork.Ingeneral,thecloseryouare
toawirelessbasestationantenna,thelowerthepoweroutputlevelofthephone.
Beforeaphonemodelisavailableforsaletothepublic,itmustbetestedandcertified
toprovetotheFCCthatitdoesnotexceedthelimitestablishedbytheU.S.
government-adoptedrequirementforsafeexposure.Thetestsareperformedon
positionandlocations(forexample,attheearandwornonthebody)asrequiredby
FCCforeachmodel.ThehighestSARvalueforthismodelphoneasreportedtothe
FCC,whentestedforuseattheear,is1.04W/kg,andwhenwornonthebody,is
0.49W/kg.(Body-wornmeasurementsdifferamongphonemodels,dependingupon
availableaccessoriesandFCCrequirements).
WhiletheremaybedifferencesbetweentheSARlevelsofvariousphonesandat
variouspositions,theyallmeettheU.S.governmentrequirements.
TheFCChasgrantedanEquipmentAuthorizationforthismodelphonewithall
reportedSARlevelsevaluatedasincompliancewiththeFCCRFexposureguidelines.
