Virus Warning (device-dependent)
This eld checks the boot sectors of the hard disk drive to see if any changes have been
made since the previous system start-up. If the boot sector has been changed since the
previous system start-up (e.g. new operating sys tem or v irus attack), a warning is displayed
on the screen. The warn ing will stay on the screen until you acknowledg e the changes by
clicking on Conrm or until you set the Virus Warning function to Disabled.
If the boot sectors have been changed and the reason for this is unknown, a
programme for n ding computer viruses should be loaded .
Such a change is not only caused by viruses, but also by the boot manage r.
This function does not replace proper anti-virus software.
No supervisor HDD password is required to set it up.
C all up the BIOS S e tup and select the Security menu.
H ighlight the Virus Warning eld and press the Enter key.
Select Enabled to activate the Virus Warning function.
From the Exit menu, choose the option Exit Saving Changes.
Press the Enter key and select Yes.
The notebook will restart and the settings will be adopted.
