Indicator Description
Caps Lock indicator
IndicatorCapsLock
Indicator is illuminated: The Caps Lock key has been pressed. All the characters
you type will appear in upper case. In the case of overlay keys, the cha racter
printed on the upper left of the key will appear when that key is pressed.

Battery repla cement ind
icator
If the battery is unlocke
d for battery replacement, the battery replacement indicator
shows whether the device
is ready for battery rep lacement (see "
Removing the
battery", Page 48). You ca
n replace the rechargeable battery in the device without
switching the device of
f first. The device has an integrated buffer battery for this
purpose. If the batter
y is unlocked while the device is in operating mode, Sleep
Mode will autom atica
lly be activated.
• The indicator light
s up green: T he device is ready for battery replacement.
Replace the battery.
• The indicator flash
es orange: The device is re ady for battery replacement but
the battery chargi
ng level of the buffer battery is low.
Replace the battery quickly.
Caution: If batte
ry replacement takes too long, the device may switch itself
off. Any data not
saved m ay be lost.
• The indicator lights up orange: T he device is not yet ready for battery
replacement as Sleep Mode has not yet been a ctivated.
Wait until the
indicator lights u p green.
Caution: If the battery is replaced now, the device m ay switch itself off. Any
data not saved may be lost.

r lights up red: The device is not ready for battery replacement.
Lock the battery again. Connect the device to the mains adap ter to charge
the buffer battery.
After a sho
rt charging time, try the battery replacement again.
Warning: If the battery is replaced now, the device may switch itself off. Any
data not saved may be lost.
• The indic
ator flashes red: Error in the buffer battery.
Shut dow n the device.
Connect
the device to the mains adapter.
If the status indicator flashes red again, contact the Service Desk.
