Working with the notebook
SIM card
A SIM Card (Subscriber Identity Mod ule) is a chip card which is inserted in a mobile telephone or
notebook and, together with an integrated UMTS module, enables access to a m obile radio network.
When ha ndling SIM cards, follow the instructions supplied by the p rovider.
Inserting the SIM card
Prepare for insertion of the SIM card, see chapter "Prepa r ing to remove components", Page 1 05.
Open the protective rubber c
over of the SIM card slot.
Do not pull on the SIM c ard loc
k! T he lock could break off otherwise. Always
slide the lock in the direc
tion of the arrow as shown.

Slide the SIM card lock (a) in the
direction of the arrow (1).
The clip (a) controls the p
ower supply for
the UMTS module. The UMTS
module is
switched off while the cl
ip is open.
Slide the SIM card as s how n into
slot (2) until it engages.
Slide the SIM card lock (
a) in the
direction of the arrow (
3).
Close the protective rubber cover of the SIM card slot.
