Webcam
Webcam
Depending on the software used, you can use your Webcam to take pictures,
record video clips or take part in w eb chats.
• The picture quality depends on the lighting conditions and the software being used.
• You can only operate the webcam with a particular application (e.g. an Internet telephony
program or a video conferencing program w hich supports a webcam).
• When using the webcam the notebook support must not wobble.
• The web cam automatically adjusts itself to the current light level. For this reason
the LCD screen may flicker while the light level is adjusted.
Further information on using the webcam and on the additional settings
which are possible for your webcam can be found in the help function
of the program which uses the webcam.
If you would like to perform a function test of your web cam, there is suitable test

When not plugged into a mains socket, the notebook runs on its built-in ba ttery. You
can increase the life of the battery by caring for the battery properly. The average
battery life is around 500 charge/discha rge cycles.
You can extend the battery life by taking advantage of the available energy saving functions.

s rechargeable battery can only be charged when the amb ient temperature
is between 5°C
/ 41°F and max. 35°C / 95°F.
You can charg
e the batte ry by connecting the notebook to the mains adapter
(see "
Mains
adapter con necting" , Page 15).
If the batte
ry is running low you will hear a warning alarm. If you do not connect t he mains adapter
within five m
inutes of the warning alarm described above, your notebook w ill automatically switch off.

so has a "Batte ry status meter" in the taskbar for monitoring the battery capacity. When
you place
the m ou se pointer on the battery symbol, the system displays the battery status.
