Your n otebook has several security features that you can use to secure your

system from unauthorised access.

This chapter explains how to use each function, and what the bene ﬁts are.

Please rem ember that in some cases, for example, forgetting your passw ord,

you may be locked out and unable to access your data. T here fore,

please note the following information:

• Make regular backups to external data carriers such as external hard

drives, CDs, DVDs or Blu-ray D iscs.

ep them in a safe place.

If you forget your passwords you will need to contact the our Service

Desk. Deletion or re setting of passwords is not covere d by your warran ty

and a charge will be made for assistance.

Setting up h and the vein pattern sensor

The hand vein pattern sensor can record the image of the pattern of the v eins of the hand. This

image is evaluated by additional software and can be used instead of a password.

► To be able to use the hand vein pattern

sensor (1), you must install the software.
