Security functions
Password prote ction for the hard disk
If a supervisor password has be en assigned, a p assword for the hard disk can
also be set in the Hard Disk Security menu.
The hard disk is protected by this password. Data on this hard disk can only be read
into an other system if the correct password has been entered.
Trusted P latform Module (TPM) (device-dependent)

To use the TPM, you m ust activate the TPM in t he BIOS Setu p b efore the software
is installed. The condition for this is that you have assigned at least the supe rvisor
HDD password (see "
Securit y functions", Page 40).
Enabling TPM
Requirement: You have set a supervisor password, see "Security functions", Page 40.
Call up the B IOS Setu
p and select the Security menu.
Mark the TPM Security Chip Settin g eld and press the Enter k ey.
Select Enabled to a
ctivate the TPM.
Once you have activated the TPM the Clear Security Chip option appears.
Select Clear Secu
rity Chip to delete the holder in the TPM. By clicking on Enabled,
all secret keys (
e.g. SRK - Storage Root Keys, AIK - Attestation Identity Keys
etc.) generate
d by applications are deleted.
Please note tha
t you will then no longer be able to access the data you have
encrypted wi t
h the keys based on that holder.
Select the Exi
t Saving Changes option in the Exit menu.
Press the Ent er key and select Yes.
The notebook
will restart, and TPM will be enabled a fter the reboot.
Disabling TPM
Requirement: You have set a supervisor password, see "Security functions", Page 40.
Call up the BIOS Setup and select the Security menu.
Mark the TPM Security Chip Settin g eld and press the Enter k ey.
Select Disabled to deactivate the TPM.
From the Exit menu, choose the option Exit Saving Changes.
Press the Ent er key and select Yes.
Your notebook will now restart and TPM will be disabled.
