Security functions
Using the Security Lock
Your device come s with a Security Lock m echanism for the Kensington Lock Cable. You
can use the Kensington Lock Cable, a sturdy steel cable, to help protect your notebook
from theft. The Kensington Lock Cab le is available as an accessory.
Fujitsu recommends the use of a combination lock.

Configuring password p rotection in BIOS Setup Utility
Before using the various options for password protection in the BIOS Setup utility
to increase data security, please observe the following:
Make a note of the passwords and keep th em in a safe place. If you forget your
supervisor password you will not be able to access your notebook. Deletion of the
password is not covered by your w arra nty and a charge will be made for assistance.
Password protection
Your password can be up to 32 characters long and can contain
letters, numbers and special characters.
When using special ch aracters, you must rememb er that these are dependent
on the country variants of th e keyboard used.
If you change the Password Severity setting from Strong to String en t in the Security
BIOS Se tup Utility menu, the Fujitsu Service Desk can no longer reset the password.
In this ca se, the system c an remain permanently unusable.
Therefore, Fujitsu recommends to generally set up a supervisor password
with the setting Password Severity = Strong.
