rise Server M4000
Cost cutting, robustness and flexibility are the requirements now demanded of rack servers for medium-sized and large enterprises.
The new Fujitsu SPARC Enterprise M4000 and M5000 systems fulfill these requirements. The world’s most widespread UNIX operating system,
Solaris™, is used. The central Fujitsu Enterprise ServerView Suite management functions ensure a reduction in the need to rectify errors and the costs
this entails, as well as remote access anytime, anywhere. Thanks to the servers’ unique flexibility in adapting to changing priorities, excess and unused
resources are a thing of the past. IT organizations thus have more powerful and resilient infrastructures, optimized hardware utilization and
consequently lower costs and risk. The SPARC Enterprise M4000 and M5000 systems are therefore the preferred UNIX platforms for a medium-sized
company.
SPARC Enterprise M4000
The rack-based SPARC Enterprise server M4000 is a highly reliable, enterprise-grade, vertically-scalable system that addresses the mid-range
processing requirements of mission-critical IT projects. The mid-range model SE M4000 scales up to 4 x SPARC64 VI Dual-Core CPUs or 4 x
SPARC64 VII Quad-Core CPUs, thus having up to 16 cores, and supports extended ECC protection and memory mirroring. Furthermore, the model SE
M4000 includes built-in features such as Dynamic System Domains, extended system boards, and Dynamic Reconfiguration, bringing mainframe-class
sophisticated resource control to an open systems computing platform. Massive computing power, a resilient system architecture, flexible resource
control features, and the advanced capabilities of the Solaris 10 OE combine in SPARC® Enterprise server M4000 to provide organizations a best-in-
class midrange enterprise platform.
