Troubleshooting
Causes and countermeasures for troubles you may encounter while using your wireless LAN are described in the
following table.

name (SSID) or

Ad hoc connection: verif y t hat the netw ork names (SSID’s) and netw ork
keys (W EP) of all computers to be connected have been configured
correctly. SSID’s and W EP key values must be identical on each machine.
Access Point (Infrastructure) connection: set t he netw ork name (SSID)
and netw ork key to the same values as those of the access point .
Set t he Netw ork Authentication value identically to that of the Access
Point. Please consult your net w ork administrat or f or t his value, if
necessary.

Poor radio w ave
condition
Ad hoc connect ion: Retry connection after short ening the distance to
the destination computer or rem oving any obstacles f or better sight.
Access Point (Infrastructure) connection: Retry connection after short -
ening the distance to the access point or removing any obstacles f or
bet ter sight.

Check if the w ireless sw itch is turned O N. Also verify Disable Radio is

If t here is any ot her w ireless LAN netw ork nearby, change channels to

Check if you have a right of access to the netw ork to be connected w it h.

Check the protocol, w ork group name or shared setting.

If the set ting of [Netw ork authentication (shared mode)] is not matched
w ith that of access point or com puter to be connected w ith, no commu-
nication can be established. Check the parameter setting.Refer to
