Easy (Wired)
Network settings are set to the following
settings initially. (In most cases, you can
connect to the Internet without making any
changes to the default settings.)
- IP Address SettingAuto(DHCP)
- DNS SettingAuto(DHCP)
- Proxy SettingDo Not Use
- Connection Speed Auto
- BD-Live SettingAllow
If you want to set the network settings back
to the default settings as above (except
“BD-
Live Setting”), follow the procedure
below.
1 In “Network Connection” menu, use
[K / L] to select “Network
Selection”, then press [OK].
2 Use [K / L] to select “Wired”, t hen
press [OK].
3 Use [K / L] to select “Easy”, then
press [OK].
• The unit will start the connection test
automatically and the test result will
appear right after the test finishes.
4 Press [OK] to activate the network
settings and set the network
connection automatically. Press
[SETUP] to exit.
Note
• The setting of “BD-Live Setting” will not
be set back to the default, even if you
follow the procedure.
Custom (Wired)
In the following cases, select “Custom”(wired)
to set each setting as necessary.
-When connection test failed wit
h the
setting of “Easy”(wired).
-When instructed by your Internet service
provider to make specific settings in
accordance with your network
environment.
To set the network setting to
“Custom”(wired), follow the procedure below.
1 Follow steps 1 to 2 in “Easy (Wired)”
on this page.
2 Use [K / L] to select “Custom”, t hen
press [OK].
-Setting menu of “Custom”(wired) will be
displayed.
3 Use [K / L] to highlight the item
you want to set.
4 Find the instruction for the item
from the following, and set the
item.
IP Address Setting / DNS Setting
1 Press [OK] repeatedly to select the
desired setting.
“Auto(DHCP)” :If your router has DHCP
server function, select
“Auto(DHCP)”.
“Manual” :If your router does not
have DHCP server
function, select “Manual”.
If you select “Manual”, follow the
instructions below to set the IP address
and DNS.
a) Use [K / L] to select “IP Address”, “Su
bnet
Mask” or “Default G ateway”, then press
[OK]. IP address setting screen will appear.
Enter IP address, subnet mask or default
gateway with cursor buttons and number
buttons.
• Enter the IP address number after
checking the specif
ications of your
router.
• If the IP address is unknown, check the
IP address of other devices. (e.g. PC
connected via LAN cable) and assign a
different number from those of other
devices.
b) After you enter all correctly, press [OK].
Conf
irmation message will appear. Select
“Yes” to complete the settings.
c) Use [K / L] to select “Primary DNS” or
“Secondary DNS”, then press [OK]. DNS
setting screen will appear. Enter primary
DNS or secondary DNS with cursor
buttons and numb
er buttons.
• Enter the DNS addresses provided by
your Internet provider.
• If the DNS address is unknown, check
the DNS address of other devices (e.g.
PC connected via LAN cable) and assign
the same DNS address.
