Operating and Safety Instructions

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Definitions
Whenever used, the following terms identify safety and property
damage messages and designate a level of hazard seriousness.
- This is the safety alert symbol. It alerts you to potential personal injury
hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury
or death.
DANGER Indicates an imminently hazardous situation, which, if not avoided, will
result in death or serious injury. Usage of this signal word is limited to the most
extreme situations.
WARNING Indicates a potentially hazardous situation, which, if not avoided, could
result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION Indicates a potentially hazardous situation, which, if not avoided, may
result in minor/moderate injury.
NOTICE – Addresses practices not related to personal injury, such as product and/or
property damage.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
CAUTION
-- To reduce the risk of personal injury:
x This product is intended for indoor, non-commercial use as an audio accessory; do
not use the product outdoors or for any other purpose.
x Always place the Speaker and Transmitter on a flat, level, stable surface.
NOTICE
-- To reduce the risk of personal injury:
x Do not wall- or ceiling-mount this product.
x Do not immerse in water or other liquids.
x Do not subject to excessive force, violent shocks, extreme temperatures/humidity
levels, or lengthy periods of direct sunlight.
x Place away from computer monitors or other electronic devices to reduce possible
interference.
Transmitter Installation:
1. Insert the single, black, 3.5mm plug of the Audio Cable into
the Line In Jack in the back of the Transmitter.
2. Depending on the device, insert either the other black,
3.5mm plug into a headphone or other output jack of the
audio device, or insert the white and red RCA plugs into the
R (Right) and L (Left) audio output jacks of the device.
NOTES: Refer to the device manufacturer’s user manual for more information. Do
not use both the RCA plugs and the connected black, 3.5mm plug at the same
time.
3. Place the Transmitter on a flat, level, stable surface.
Optional Adapter Power
A 4.5-volt 300mA~500mA DC adapter (not included) instead of batteries can
be used to power the Transmitter. Insert the small end of the adapter into the Jack
in the back, and then plug the other end into a standard 120-volt AC electrical outlet.
WARNING-- To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or serious personal injury:
x Follow the adapter manufacturer’s safety and usage instructions.
x Unplug before relocating or cleaning, or when the product is not in use or will be
left unattended.
x To unplug, pull directly on the adapter; do not pull on the cord.
x Do not operate the product if the adapter or cord is damaged.
x Do not allow the cord of the adapter to hang where it may be tripped over or
pulled.

NOTES:
x The Transmitter signal extends up to 30 feet (10m)(unobstructed).
1. To turn on the Transmitter, lift the Antenna to the upright position and
fully extend the Antenna. The Power Indicator will illuminate when on.
2. To turn on the Headphones, push the Power Button. The Power Indicator will
illuminate when on. Adjust the volume using the Volume Dial on the right side of
the Headphones.
WARNING: Avoid prolonged exposure to high sound levels, as this may cause
personal injury.
3. To turn on the Speaker, rotate the Dial to the On position. The Power Indicator will
illuminate when on. Adjust the volume using the Dial.
4. To turn off the product, lower the Antenna of the Transmitter, rotate the Dial on
the Speaker to the Off position, and/or push the Power Button on the Headphones,
as applicable.
Optional Wired Headphone or Speaker Use:
The Headphones or Speaker can be connected directly to most audio devices by
inserting the single, black, 3.5mm plug of the Audio Cable to the Input Jack of the
desired part (Headphone or Speaker), and then inserting the appropriate plug(s) at
the other end of the Cable to the output jack of the desired device.
NOTE: The Transmitter is not needed for this function.
Care and Maintenance
x If a Power Indicator becomes dim or the sound becomes weak or distorted, replace
the batteries as instructed.
x If necessary, clean the product with a soft, damp cloth.
NOTICE: Do not use abrasive chemicals/pads and do not allow liquids to enter any
openings of the product.
Troubleshooting

Headphone Safety:
WARNING:
x Do not listen to Headphones at a high volume for an extended period, as this may
cause hearing damage. Reduce volume or discontinue use if a ringing in the ears
occurs.
x Do not use headphones while operating a motorized vehicle, as it may create a
traffic hazard and is illegal in many areas.
CAUTION:
x Discontinue use if discomfort or allergic reaction occurs.
Battery Handling and Usage:
WARNING-- To reduce the risk of serious personal injury:
x Keep batteries away from children. Only adults should handle batteries.
x Follow the battery manufacturer’s safety and usage instructions.
x Never throw batteries into a fire. Dispose or recycle spent/discharged batteries in
compliance with all applicable laws.
CAUTION-- To reduce the risk of personal injury:
x Always use the size and type of battery indicated.
x Do not mix a used battery with a new battery, or mix alkaline, standard (carbon-
zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
x Insert the batteries observing the proper polarity (/) as indicated.
NOTICE-- To reduce the risk of product and/or property damage:
x Clean the battery contacts and those of the device prior to installation.
x Remove spent or discharged batteries from the product.
x Remove the batteries when not using the product for an extended period.

Battery Installation:
Speaker and Transmitter
1. Remove the Screw and Cover from the Battery
Compartment.
2. Insert four “C” size alkaline batteries for the
Speaker and three “AAA” size alkaline batteries
for the Transmitter, observing the proper
polarity (/) as indicated.
3. Replace the Screw and Cover.
Headphones
1. Remove the Cover by sliding the latch in the direction of the
arrow and lifting up from the Battery Compartment.
2. Insert two “AAA” size alkaline batteries (not included), observing
the proper polarity (/) as indicated, and then replace the
Cover.

LIMITED WARRANTY
This item is warranted to be free from defects in materials or
workmanship for a period of one year from the original date of purchase
under normal conditions of household use. Within the warranty period,
we will replace the product or refund your money, at our option, at the
place of purchase upon presentation of sales receipt or other proof of
purchase. This warranty extends only to the original retail purchaser, and
excludes any damage to the product resulting from accident or misuse.
The product is not warranted when used in a commercial or business
environment.
The above warranty is complete and exclusive. The warrantor expressly
disclaims liability for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential
damages in connection with the purchase or use of this product or costs
over the original purchase price.
Any implied warranties arising by operation of law shall be limited in
duration to the term of this warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may have other rights
that vary by jurisdiction. This warranty is valid only within the United
States of America (USA).
