Step 6: Measure the deck board and cut to length so it is
flush against the posts.
Step 7: Chisel the center area at each end of the deck
board. The area chiseled will need to be deep enough so
that the deck board will sit flush over the top rail bracket
covers on each end without a gap between the bracket and
deck board.
Step 8: Center the Deck board over the top rail. Using
the remaining 1" Phillips stainless steel pan head screws
supplied, fasten the deck board at each of the 4 bracket
locations. The screws will be secured from underneath the
brackets through the bottom of the deck board. (Figure 3).
