Damaged Substrate Treatment: Non-Metal
Substrate Treatment
TPO
Any areas where TPO has torn, cracked, and/or buckled, or where
scrim is exposed must be repaired using similar compable materials
to the current roof.
Any wet insulaon must be replaced.
Allow at least 48 hours drying me aer the cleaning process before
applicaon of HydroStop® PremiumCoat® liquid-applied products.
PVC or Hypalon
®
Any areas where PVC or Hypalon has torn, cracked, and/or buckled,
or where scrim is exposed must be repaired using similar compable
materials to the current roof.
Any wet insulaon must be replaced.
Allow at least 48 hours drying me aer the cleaning process before
applicaon of HydroStop® PremiumCoat® liquid-applied products.
Spray Polyurethane Foam
All areas where the urethane foam has degraded must be scaried
and re-foamed to bring substrate to a smooth, workable surface.
Any areas where foam has become wet must be removed and re-
foamed.
EPDM
Any areas where EPDM has torn, cracked, and/or buckled must be
repaired using similar compable materials to the current roof.
Any wet insulaon must be replaced.
Allow at least 48 hours drying me aer the cleaning process before
applicaon of HydroStop® PremiumCoat® liquid-applied products.
Mineral & Granule Surfaced BUR or
Modied Bitumen (SBS & APP)
OR
Smooth Surfaced BUR or Modied
Bitumen (SBS & APP)
Any areas where asphalc membrane has blistered, buckled, become
wet and/or otherwise been damaged must be removed and repaired
using similar compable materials to the current roof.
New BUR or modied bitumen repair materials must be allowed to
weather at least 30 days before applying liquid-applied products to
repaired areas.
All areas where BUR or modied bitumen surface have signicantly
cracked (gaps 1/16” [1.6 mm] or greater in width and/or depth) must
be repaired using ashing grade coang to create a smooth, workable
surface on the substrate.
Allow ashing grade coang at least 24 hours drying me before
applicaon of HydroStop® PremiumCoat® liquid-applied products.
Areas with thicker applicaons may require addional drying me.
Gravel-surfaced BUR or modied bitumen roong systems are not
a suitable substrate to receive a HydroStop® PremiumCoat® liquid-
applied coang.
