COOKTOP USE USE BALANCED PANS POWER FAILURE In the case of unintentional flame extinguishing, the safety valve intervenes by shutting off the gas to the burners. Pans must sit level on the cooktop grate without rocking. Center the pan over the burner. USE A LID THAT FITS PROPERLY A well-fitting lid helps shorten the cooking time. Check the chart below for causes of the most common problems. Since the size, shape and material of baking utensils directly affect the baking results, the best solution may be to replace old baking utensils that have darkened and warped with age and use.
