ASSEMBLY:
1. Push U-Clip onto Brace &
align with the small hold on
the center channel.!
2. Partially turn Thumb Screw
into U-Clip & hole (see “thumb
screw in u-clip” image). !
3. Push both Fasteners into
Brace only (NOT the Shield,
only into the Brace). !
Pushing fasteners into the
shield at this point will
make the shield un-
installable.

INSTALLATION:!
1. Hold Shield in position against J-Arm and align Brace for best fit. Position as high as
possible (see image below). !
NOW, you can safely Snap together the Shield with the Brace. !
2. Tighten the Thumb Screw to secure in
place. !
Note: The thumb screw is NOT
intended to enter/penetrate any holes
in the J-arm, it merely presses against
it to hold in place.
*Optional - loop the emergency rope
behind the Thumb Screw to further
secure it out of reach. This is not
required as the rope would be very
difficult to reach with the Shield in
place. *NOTE that UL Code 325
requires rope handle to be no further
than 6 feet distance from the floor.
