DESCRIPTION: GARDNER® DRIVE 5™ seals and protects any asphalt or blacktop
s
urface. GARDNER DRIVE 5 restores driveways and parking lots to their original black
finish, and fills small cracks for a more even-looking finish. Using GARDNER DRIVE 5
as part of a regular maintenance program can add years of life to your driveway, park-
i
ng lot or other asphalt project.
Read and follow all directions before beginning project.
PREPARING THE SURFACE: New asphalt must cure at least six months and/or one
f
ull summer season before applying sealcoat. Clean driveway first with DRIVEWAY
K
LEEN™ spray-on cleaner to ensure adhesion. Scrub oil spots with DRIVEWAY KLEEN
a
nd a brush. Repair cracks and fill holes with appropriate CRACK STOPPER™ crack
f
illers. Fill large potholes with REPAVE permanent pothole patch. Repairs must cure
a
ccording to manufacturer instructions before sealing.
CONDITIONS: Before sealing, surface and air must be at least 65°F and rising, but
below 90°F. Do not apply patch or sealer if rain or colder temperatures are expected
within 36 hours

After prepar
ing the surface and rinsing thoroughly, apply sealer to the
damp pavement. Stir in any water that has separated inside the pail. Pour out 1/4 of the
container across b
lacktop and spread product with brush or squeegee
, the entire coat
going in the same direction, from the highest end of the drive to the lowest. Complete
each coat in one continuous wet application to prevent uneven color or sheen, working
in small areas at a time and moving across the surf
ace
. Do not allow to puddle.

After the first coat is fully dr
y, apply a second thin coat in the opposite
direction.
This second coat ensures v
oids are filled & sealed, and deters uneven cover-
age, tracking and drying problems. When using more than one pail, blend sealers
together for the best finish consistency.
HOW MUCH TO APPLY: For driveways in average condition, apply 350 sq. ft. per 5 gal-
lon pail in two thin coats. Coverage varies based the surface condition and texture.

PRECAUTIONS: Do not thin, mix or blend this product with any other product. Use pro-
tectiv
e clothing and eyewear when using these products, to avoid skin irritation. When
transporting this product, ensure the lid is completely sealed and the pail upright and
secure: allowing pail to tumble may cause it to leak. Do not transport inside the passen-
ger compar
tment of an

ehicle. Transport in the cargo area of vehicle, and secure over
protective cloths to prevent damage due to accidental spills. CLOSE CONTAINER
WHEN NOT IN USE. Do not reuse empty containers. Use caution not to track onto
linoleum floors, which are subject to household traffic stains, including asphalt driveway
sealers;

ufacturer for suggestions. Do not use in drinking water
or food systems. KEEP FROM FREEZING.
DISPOSAL: Dispose of in an environmentally acceptable manner. Container is recycla-
ble if cleaned immediately. Do not pour excess product in drains or watercourses.
