4.5.1.2 Radar Altimeter
Provides altitude information during approach. Input voltage range is 0 to 30Vdc. Compatible with Radar
Altimeters listed in section 3.5.2.4.
4.5.2 Inputs From Compass System/Directional Gyros
Inputs heading information from a directional gyro.
3-wire synchro magnetic heading input, with HEADING Z grounded. Index reference is 0° as specified by
ARINC 407.
Frequency: 400Hz ± 10%
Voltage: 11.8 Vrms nominal, 13.0 Vrms maximum
Input Impedance:
>10 k
Resolution: ± 0.1° or better
Accuracy: ±
Both the active high Heading Valid discrete and the active low Heading Valid*
discrete inputs to the GTS Processor must be valid for heading information to be
used by the GTS Processor system.
If the Compass System/Directional Gyro provides an active high Heading Valid discrete output, wire to the
GTS Processor active high Heading Valid discrete input, otherwise wire the GTS Processor active high
Heading Valid discrete input to the circuit breaker output (14 Vdc or 28 Vdc) for the Compass System/
Directional Gyro.
If the Compass System/Directional Gyro provides an active low Heading Valid* discrete output, wire to
the GTS Processor active low Heading Valid* discrete input, otherwise wire the GTS Processor active low
Heading Valid* discrete input to Ground.
