Hands-Free Features
You can connect your device to a wireless headset and listen to
navigation voice prompts through the headset. While connected
to a headset, you can connect to a mobile phone to make and
receive calls using the device and your headset.
Enabling Bluetooth Wireless Technology

Select Settings > Bluetooth.

About Wireless Headsets
Using wireless technology, your device can send audio
navigation prompts to a wireless headset. For more information,

Pairing a Wireless Headset
NOTE:
Only one headset can receive navigation prompts and
phone calls at a time. Up to two headsets can be used for
multimedia audio.

Place your headset and your Bluetooth device within 33 ft.
(10 m) of each other.

On your device, enable Bluetooth wireless technology.

On your headset, enable Bluetooth wireless technology and
make it visible to other
Bluetooth devices.

On your device, select Settings >
Bluetooth
.

Follow the on-screen instructions.
After the pairing process is complete, you can enable or disable
features for your paired wireless headset (Enabling or Disabling
Headset Features, page 9)

Enabling or Disabling Headset Features
You can enable or disable features for your paired Bluetooth
headset.

> Bluetooth

Select your paired Bluetooth headset.

Select one or more options:
To hear phone and navigation prompts through your
headset, select
Phone, Navigation.
To hear media playback through your headset, select
Media
.
About Hands-Free Calling
NOTE:
While most phones and headsets are supported and can
be used, it cannot be guaranteed that a particular phone or
headset can be used. All features may not be available for your
phone.
Using Bluetooth wireless technology, your device can connect to
your mobile phone and wireless headset or helmet to become a
hands-free device. To determine whether your device with
Bluetooth technology is compatible with your device, go to
www.garmin.com/bluetooth
.
Pairing Your Phone

Place your phone and your zūmo device within 33 ft. (10 m)
of each other.

On your phone, enable Bluetooth wireless technology, and
set the phone to be discoverable.

On your zūmo device, select Settings
> Bluetooth
.

Follow the on-screen instructions on your phone and your
zūmo device.

Enabling or Disabling Smartphone Features
You can enable or disable features for your paired smartphone.

> Bluetooth

Select your paired smartphone.

Select one or more options:
To place or receive phone calls through your zūmo device,
select Phone calls.
To connect to the Smartphone Link app on your
smartphone, select Smartphone Link (Smartphone Link,
page 10)

To control media playback on your smartphone using your
zūmo device, select

.
To control Pandora
®
Internet radio playback on your
smartphone using your zūmo device, select
Pandora®
(Pandora Service, page 11).
Placing a Call

Calling a Contact in Your Phone Book
Your phone book is loaded from your phone to the device each
time your phone and the device connect. It may take a few
minutes for the phone book to be available. Some phones do
not support this feature.

Receiving a Call
When you receive a call, select Answer or
Ignore.
Using the Call History
Your call history is loaded from your phone to the device each
time your phone and the device connect. It may take a few
minutes for the call history to be available. Some phones do not
support this feature.

Select a category.
A list of calls appears, with the most recent calls at the top.

Using In-Call Options

From the map, while on a call, select .

To transfer audio to your phone, select Handset.
TIP: You can use this feature if you want to turn off your
device and remain on the call, or if you need privacy.
TIP: You can use this feature to use automated systems,
such as voice mail.
To mute the microphone, select
Mute.
To hang up, select
End Call.
