2.4 ABNORMAL OPERATIONS
ABNORMAL GPS CONDITIONS
The annunciations listed in Table 2-4 can appear on the HSI when abnormal GPS conditions occur; see Figure
2-51 for examples. Refer to the Flight Management Section for more information on Dead Reckoning Mode.

Lower left of

Loss of Integrity Monitoring–GPS integrity is insufficient for the current
phase of flight
INTEG OK
Lower left of
aircraft symbol
Integrity OK–GPS integrity has been restored to within normal limits
(annunciation displayed for 5 seconds)
DR
Upper right of
aircraft symbol
Dead Reckoning–System is using projected position rather than GPS position
to compute navigation data and sequence active flight plan waypoints

DR Mode causes the following items on the PFD to be shown in yellow:
CDI (when GPS is the selected navigation source; removed after 20 minutes in DR mode operation)
Current Track Indicator
Wind data and pointers in the Wind Data Box on the PFD
GPS bearing pointers
Distances in the Bearing Information windows
Active Flight Plan distances, bearings, and ETE values
Ground Speed
The accuracy items should be verified when operating in DR Mode.
