and then lower it toward the surface to operating height. Listen closely to the audio sound. If
the sound increases press the (–) touch pad one or twice. Raise the coil and then lower it
again. Do this until the audio sound remains the same or changes only very little. If the sound
decreases the some procedure is done using the (+) touchpad. When the audio sound has
little or no increase or decrease press operate to begin hunting or select to move to another
function.
The Ground Balance you have set for your detector will not change as long as AutoTrack
remains turned off. When Auto Track is operating it will govern the ground balancing function
of the GTI 2500.
Auto Track: This Search Aid permits the detector to maintain optimum ground balance
automatically, regardless of changing mineralization or other conditions.
Don’t Forget: The factory-set levels of all settings and controls can be instantly restored by
pressing and holding the POWER touchpad The detector will beep and the voice will advise
that the detector has been re-set to factory settings.
TREASURE IMAGING
When hunting with the Search Image Aid turned off, size and depth information is available
only when the Treasure Imaging touchpad is pressed and held. The relative size and depth of
targets will then be displayed on the Imaging Grid.
Important: the searchcoil must be centered directly over the target to produce accurate size
and depth information.
.
Depth Reading on the Lower Scale
When you press and hold the Treasure Imaging touchpad, target depth will be indicated on
the Lower Scale. Illumination of Upper Scale segments, from left to right, indicate the strength
of the target signal.
While still pressing the Treasure Imaging touchpad check the Lower Scale for the target
depth in 1” increments. The Imaging Grid will also indicate depth but in 2” increments. Thus a
target with a Lower Scale depth of 5” will be rounded up to 6” on the Imaging Grid.
Size/Depth on the Imaging Grid
Note that the size and depth information can change on the grid as the target is being centered
beneath the searchcoil. The correct reading on the Imaging Grid will always be the smallest
size and the shallowest depth. When these two are achieved at the same time the target is
beneath the center of the searchcoil at the depth indicated.
Cone Effect
You may occasionally observe a size and depth reading similar to a cone. Such a reading with
multiple indications of size and depth indicates that the detected target is too small or too deep
to determine an accurate size and depth. The cone effect may occur when the target is
significantly off-center from the searchcoil
Batteries
The GTI 2500 detectors utilize a battery pack that requires eight (8) standard, alkaline, or
rechargeable AA batteries in holders of four (4) each. When replacements are necessary, it is
