Porcelain Tile Care and Maintenance
Porcelain tile is one of the most durable and maintenance friendly applications you can choose for
your walls, floors and countertops. With the proper care and maintenance, it retains its original
beauty and luster for many years. Generally, all that is necessary to keep porcelain tile looking as
good as new is a quick wipe with a clean damp cloth or mop. Prompt cleanup of spills and regular
cleaning keeps your ceramic tile surfaces looking their best.
Daily Maintenance
Remove all debris using an untreated dust mop, soft bristle broom or vacuum.
Follow by damp mopping with clean warm water.
On polished surfaces, dust mop the floors frequently to avoid surface abrasion from the
grit of the dust particles.
For moderately soiled floors
Use only PH-Neutral liquid cleaners.
Avoid cleaning solutions containing oils, fats, acids or other chemicals.
Follow directions provided by the cleaner manufacturer for proper application and dilution.
For heavily soiled floors
On an isolated part of the surface to be cleaned, use a brush, nylon scrubbing pad or floor
cleaning machine.
Use a degreaser in areas where necessary.
Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean warm water using a mop or a wet-vac.
Towel dry or buff the tiles to prevent spots/streaks and to enhance the surface sheen.
