4. The Win+Drive Design Environment
4.1 Starting Win+Drive
After Win+Drive is installed a program group called “Win+Drive” is created. It contains the following items:

starting Win+Drive
- starting the Image editor
- opening the Win-tDrive help
- uninstalling W&Drive
Files with the extension. WDR will be associated with the Win+Drive application.
4.1. I Starting from Wind0 ws 95
From the Start button select the Program item, then the Win+Drive group and finally the Win+Drive item.
Win+Drive will be started.
Alternatively you can create a shortcut to Win+Drive on the desktop or within any folder.
Win+Drive project files with the extension. WDR cart also be double-clicked within the explorer or any folder.
This will start Win+Drive and open the selected project file.
4.1.2 Starting from Windows 3.1
Open the Win+Drive group within the program manager and double-click the Win+Drive icon within this
window. Win+Drive will be started.
From the file manager Win+Drive project files with the extension . WDR can be double-clicked to start
Win+Drive and open the selected file.
4.2 Opening Projects
42.1 Creating a newproject
To create a new project select the menu item New from the File menu. A new project will be created with the
name nuname.wdr. A window for the main schematic titled Scheme is opened with no contents.
If another project was open and modified when a new project is created a dialog is opened for asking if the
old project should be saved.
4.22 Opening an existing project
To open an existing project the menu item Open from the File menu has to be selected. The standard win-
dows file open dialog is opened for selecting the project file. Win+Drive project files always have the exten-
sion . WDR.
An existing project can also be opened from the list of recently used projects at the bottom of the File menu.
After opening a project a window with the top schematic is opened and shown.
4.3 Saving a Project
For saving a project to disk the menu item Save from the File menu has to be selected. If the project was
newly created a standard windows dialog for entering the name and path of the project file is opened.
To save a project under a new filename use the menu item Save As from the File menu. Selecting this action
the windows dialog for entering the file name will always be opened.
After saving a project the project is still active and can be modified. To close a project the menu item Close
from the File menu has to be selected. If the project was modified a dialog is opened asking whether it should
be saved to disk. After closing the project no project is active. A new project can be created or another exist-
ing project can be opened.
