1.3 Renaming a Compound Block
The name of compound blocks can be changed by selecting item
Rename
from
the Compound
menu. A
dialog appears that lists all compound blocks of the project. Selecting
one
allows typing
a
new name in the
upper text box. This dialog can be used to change the
names
of all available compound blocks without leaving
the dialog.

If the name of a compound block
is
changed all instances get this new name. No instances or connections are
removed
by
renaming a compound block.

Block Inputs and Outputs
Connections from a compound block to the outside are done by input and output ports.

Placing
input
and Output Ports
To place an input or output perform the following steps:

select
Input Port
or
Output Port
from the
Insert
menu. The cursor changes its appearance.

move the mouse
to
the place the input or output should be placed.
-
press the left mouse button. A new input
or
output is placed into the schematic with the initial name
Portn
(n is a number which is incremented with each insertion).
To cancel this procedure press
ESC
.
7.22 Renaming Ports
Modifying the name
is
done by the ports dialog. This dialog is opened either by double-clicking a port or by
selecting a port, pressing the right mouse button for the context sensitive menu and choosing the
Ports
item.
The port dialog is similar to the one for basic blocks (see paragraph 54.1) except that now the names of the
ports can be changed.
Renaming the port of a compound block results in deleting the connection lines to this port at every instance
of this compound block.
7.2.3
Changing
the
Size of Ports
The input and output port symbols can be resized. This is done by the following steps:

Select the port The port will be surrounded by a red rectangle.

Move the mouse to one of the border lines or corners of the red rectangle. The cursor will change to a
double arrow.

Hold down the left mouse key and move the mouse to the new size.
-
Release the left mouse key after the required size is achieved.
If the port is getting too small to display the name this will not be displayed.
