Thisincludesthespeedandgain,niteresiduallter,pacemakerenhancement,

5.RecordapreliminaryECG.
Thismaybeaseated,standing,supine,orhyperventilatingECG,dependingon
therequirementsoftheselectedprotocol.
6.Beginthepretestphase.
a.Havethepatientgetonthedevice.
b.PressthePretestkey.
c.Allowthepatienttowarmupbeforebeginningtheexercisephaseofthe
test.
NOTE:
Onsupportedtreadmills,pressStartTMtostartthebelt.
7.Whenthepatientisreadytobeginthestresstest,presstheExercisekey.
Duringthetest,youcanusethestresskeystoholdthecurrentstage,enter
bloodpressure,addacomment,changethedisplayedleads,andtogglethe
niteresiduallter.Withsupportedequipment,youcanalsousethestresskeys
toadjusttheequipment’sspeed,grade,orload.Withunsupportedequipment,
theequipmentmustbeadjustedmanuallyattheequipmentitself.

8.Whentheexercisephaseiscomplete,presstheRecoverykeytobeginthe
recoveryphaseofthetest.
NOTE:
Whenusinganergometerwithremotestart,youdonotneedtopressthe
Recoverykeybecausetherecoveryphasebeginsautomaticallyattheend
ofthelaststage.However,youcanpresstheRecoverykeytobeginthe
recoveryphasebeforethelaststageends.
Onsupportedtreadmills,thebeltbeginstoslowandthegradedropsto0%.On
supportedergometers,theloadbeginstolighten.Onunsupportedtreadmills
andergometers,theseadjustmentsmustbemademanually.
ContinuetomonitorthepatientandrecordtheECGuntilthedevicestops.
9.Whentherecoveryphaseisover,presstheTestEndkey.
