Usingthe dehumidifier, gecom
When first using the dehumidifier, operate the unit continuously 24 hours.
How the Dehumidifier Operates Automatic Defrost
Moist, lmmid air is drawn over a cold refrigerated
delmmidif)ing coil. Moisture in the air condenses
on this coil and drains into a bucket (or through
a hose and drain).

where it is heated and discharged out the fl'ont
grille into the room,
It is normal for the surrounding air to become slightly
warmer as the dehumidifier operates.
This wamfing effect flu'ther reduces the relative
humidi_' el the surrom_ding ai_:
&,_]_enfl'ost builds up on the evaporator coils, the
compressor will Q:cle off and the tim will continue
to rtm tmtil the ti'ost disappears.
_,_]_en the coil is defl'osted, the compressor or tim
(depending on model) will automaticallv restart
and dehmnidif)_ng will resume.
Choosing a Location
A dehumidifier operating in a basement will have
little or no effect in drying an ac!jacent enclosed
storage area, such as a closet, mfless there is
adequate circulation of air in and out of the area.
Donot useoutdoors.
rhisdehumidifieris intendedforindoorresidential
applicationsonly.Thisdehumidifiershould not be
used for commercialor industrialapplications.
Place the dehumidifierona smooth,level floor
strong enoughto supportthe unit with a full bucket
of water.
Allowatleast 12-18inchesof airspace on allsides
of theunit for goodair circulation.
Place the dehumidifierin anarea where the
temperaturewill not fall below 4I°F (5°C).Thecoils
can becomecoveredwith frostat temperatures
below 41°F,which mayreduce performance.
Usethe dehumidifier& cooking,laundry,bathing
and dishwashingareas that have excessive
moisture.NOTE:Placethe dehumidifieraway
from the clothes dryer.
Usethe dehumidifierto prevent moisturedamage
anywherebooks or valuablesare stored.
Usethe dehumidifier& a basementto help prevent
moisture damage.
Thedehumidifiermust be operatedin an enclosed
areato be most effective.
Closeall doors,windows andother outsideopenings
to theroom.
