LED lighting is natural choice for grocery store chains
GE’s Albeo
LED lighting saves Natural Grocers $169,312 in energy costs across 40 stores
THE SITUATION
Lakewood, Colo.-based Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage has been
using environmentally sensitive materials since opening for business
in 1955. With a mission to continue to support the environment and
minimize energy use, it was only natural the supermarket chain would
incorporate all-LED lighting in its new grocery stores.
THE SOLUTION
The rapidly growing company has installed GE’s Albeo
ALC3-Series
linear LED lighting xtures—chosen for their energy eciency, ease of
installation and customizable congurations.
The energy-ecient LED lighting provides a high lumen output and has
a high color rendering index (CRI) of 90+ that helps enhance the visual
appeal of fresh produce, prepared foods and other merchandise.
At each new store, GE customized the mounting scheme by conguring
and matching dierent lengths of the ALC3-Series LED lighting xtures
to t a variety of store formats and lighting layouts. Additionally, Albeo
products contain “plug-and-play” features and are specially designed for
quick installation, which simplies electrical needs, helps reduce contractor
labor costs and speeds up the overall lighting system installation.
In everything we do and provide, we are committed to being
environmentally responsible. Utilizing LED lighting throughout each
new store is a smart, visible way that we demonstrate this commitment.
