Step 3b. Appliance Mounting
WARNING
To reduce the risk associated with
hazardous voltage, do hot drill into or screw the
system to the refrigerator cabinet.
1.Cleanappliancesurfacetoremoveanydirt,oil,
moisture or grease. Clean the manifold surface
withasolutionof50/50isopropylalcoholand
water.Drythoroughly.
2.Foreaseofinstallation,connectfiltercartridge
to manifold prior to attaching filtration product to
Appliance.Use8feetoftubing(coiled3times
approximately10″indiameter)betweentheinletof
thesystemandthewatersupplyshut-offvalve.
3.Filtershouldbemounted5″minimumfromthe
edgetopreventtubingfrombeingseenfromthe
front of the refrigerator.
4.Usingthedouble-sidedmountingtapeprovided,
removeonesideofprotectivewaxpaperandapply
theentirepiecetothebacksideofthemanifold,
applyingfirmpressuretotheentirepiecefora
minimumof30seconds.(Itisrecommendedto
applywhentheroomtemperatureisabove55°F
for best adhesion.)
5.Removetheremainingwaxpaperfromthedouble-
sidedtapeonthebacksideofthemanifold,and
adhereittothecleanedsurfaceoftherefrigerator,
applyingfirmpressuretotheentirepiece.The
adhesiveofthetapeispressure-sensitive.Apply
anadequatepressuretoadherethefiltersystemto
the refrigerator.
6.Refrainfromtuggingorpullingonthefiltersystemfor
severalhoursafteritisappliedtoallowadhesion.
7.Whenchangingthefilterinthefuture,hold
manifold against refrigerator wall to reduce the
chanceofadhesiveseparatingfromrefrigerator.
Step 4. Connecting the Tubing
1.Measure3/4″fromeachcutendofthetubingand
markwithapencil(Fig.5).(Checkforroundness,
smoothness,cuts,nicks,flatspotsandsharp
edges.)
2.Inserttubeintomanifoldbypushingtubeendfirmly
into manifold inlet. Repeat for manifold outlet and
intoicemakerwatersupply.Tubingmustbefully
insertedtoavoidleaks.
Pullfirmlyontubestomakesurethattheyaresecure.
