Step 3b. Appliance Mounting
WARNING
To reduce the risk associated with
hazardous voltage, do hot drill into or screw the
system to the refrigerator cabinet.
1.Cleanappliancesurfacetoremoveanydirt,oil,
moisture or grease. Clean the manifold surface
withasolutionof50/50isopropylalcoholand
water.Drythoroughly.
2.Foreaseofinstallation,connectfiltercartridge
to manifold prior to attaching filtration product to
Appliance.Use8feetoftubing(coiled3times
approximately10″indiameter)betweentheinletof
thesystemandthewatersupplyshut-offvalve.
3.Filtershouldbemounted5″minimumfromthe
edgetopreventtubingfrombeingseenfromthe
front of the refrigerator.
4.Usingthedouble-sidedmountingtapeprovided,
removeonesideofprotectivewaxpaperandapply
theentirepiecetothebacksideofthemanifold,
applyingfirmpressuretotheentirepiecefora
minimumof30seconds.(Itisrecommendedto
applywhentheroomtemperatureisabove55°F
for best adhesion.)
5.Removetheremainingwaxpaperfromthedouble-
sidedtapeonthebacksideofthemanifold,and
adhereittothecleanedsurfaceoftherefrigerator,
applyingfirmpressuretotheentirepiece.The
adhesiveofthetapeispressure-sensitive.Apply
anadequatepressuretoadherethefiltersystemto
the refrigerator.
6.Refrainfromtuggingorpullingonthefiltersystemfor
severalhoursafteritisappliedtoallowadhesion.
7.Whenchangingthefilterinthefuture,hold
manifold against refrigerator wall to reduce the
chanceofadhesiveseparatingfromrefrigerator.
Step 4. Connecting the Tubing
1.Measure3/4″fromeachcutendofthetubingand
markwithapencil(Fig.5).(Checkforroundness,
smoothness,cuts,nicks,flatspotsandsharp
edges.)
2.Inserttubeintomanifoldbypushingtubeendfirmly
into manifold inlet. Repeat for manifold outlet and
intoicemakerwatersupply.Tubingmustbefully
insertedtoavoidleaks.
Pullfirmlyontubestomakesurethattheyaresecure.
