The repeatability of the thickness reading through the complete system is the smallest change that can be
reliably detected.
Thickness accuracy Accuracy depends on knowing the substrate material sound velocity. Calibration standards or material
specications of the material are required for accurate results. This accuracy applies for uniform surfaces. Highly
localized pitting may not be detected.
