• To reduce the risk of severe injury or death, follow all installation instructions.

• Clothes dryer installation must be performed by a qualified installer.

• Install the clothes dryer according to these instructions and in accordance with local codes.

• This dryer must be exhausted to the outdoors.

• Use only 4" rigid metal ducting for exhausting the clothes dryer to the outdoors.

• DO NOTinstall a clothes dryer with flexible plastic ducting materials. If flexible metal (semi-rigid or foil-type} duct is installed,

it must be UL-listed and installed in accordance with the instructions found in "Connecting the Dryer to House Vent" on page

6 of this manual. Flexible ducting materials are known to collapse, be easily crushed, and trap lint. These conditions will

obstruct dryer airflow and increase the risk of fire.

• Do not install or store this appliance in any location where it could be exposed to water andlor weather.

• Save these instructions. (Installers: Be sure to leave these instructions with the customer.}

• This appliance must be properly grounded and installed as described in these instructions.

Installation Instructions MOVING SPACEMAKER T_TO OPERATING LOCATION _ _ CONNECTING --ACAUTION: Besure woter supply lines hove been thoroughlg flushed to remove particles that might clog the wesher filter screens. emove the 2 screws securing the access panel to the drger cabinet. Lift the front access panel until the tabs can be disengaged from the drger cabinet, and remove the panel. Check inlet hoses to ensure the rubber washers are installed in each end.

Installation CONNECTING Instructions TO GAS SUPPLY CHECKING APPLIANCE OPERATION Connect the gas supply to the dryer. If codes allow, use new flexible metal tubing (design certified by the American Gas Association). Be sure there are no kinks. For gas connections, you MUSTuse pipe-joint compound resistant to the action of LP gas. [1"6] Make sure all packing and shipping materials are removed, including the washer shipping bolt and plastic spacer block. Route drain hose properly-not or kinked.

Installation PLUMBING INFORMATION WATER SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS • HOT AND COLD WATERFAUCETS- Must be within 42" of the appliance water inlet hose connections. The faucets must be 3/4" garden hose-type so inlet hoses can be connected. WATERPRESSURE - Must be between 10 and 120 pounds per square inch with a maximum unbalance pressure, hot vs. cold flowing, of 10 pounds per square inch. • SHUT-OFFVALVES- Both hot and cold water shut-off valves (faucets) should be supplied.

Installation ADJUSTING Instructions EXHAUST (CONT.) FOR ELEVATION EXHAUST DUCT LENGTH iNFORMATiON • Gas clothes dryers input ratings are based on sea level operation and need not be adjusted for operation at or below 2000 ft. elevation. For operation at elevations above 2000 ft., input ratings should be reduced at a rate of 4 percent for each 1000 ft. above sea level. • Installation must conform to local codes and ordinances or, in their absence, the NATIONALFUELGAS CODE, ANSI Z225.

Installation CONNECTING {CONT.) THE DRYER TO HOUSE VENT UL-Listed Flexible Metal (Foil-Type)Transition Duct • In special installations, it meg be necessary to connect the dryer to the house vent using e flexible metal (foil-type) duct. A UL-listed flexible metal (foil-type) duct meg be used ONLYin installations where rigid metal or flexible metal (semi-rigid) ducting cannot be used AND where a 4" diameter can be maintained throughout the entire length of the transition duct.

Installation WARNING Instructions - MISCELLANEOUS LOCATION For your safety, the information in this manual must be followed to minimize the risk of fire or explosion or to prevent property damage, personal injury or loss of life. • The appliance must be installed on firm flooring to minimize vibration during spin cgcles. Concrete flooring is best, but wood base is sufficient, provided the floor support meets FHA standards.
