Wireless Nd1 PC Card and PCI Adapter
1. Ensure t hat your com puter is close enough to your rout er t o receive a signal
and t hat there is nothing int erfering with the signal, such as a m icrowave oven
or a concrete wall. Check t he Sit e Monitor t ab of t he USRobot ics N d

Configuration Ut ilit y. I f your rout er is not listed, the problem m ay be signal
strengt h.
2. Verify t hat your rout er is configured to broadcast its net work nam e.

Configurat ion Ut ilit y is using t he correct N e t w ork nam e
( SSI D) and wireless securit y sett ings for your rout er. Sett ings such as net work
nam e, security m et hod ( such as WPA or WEP) , and securit y keys m ust all
m at ch.
4. Verify t hat t he com put er is allowed to connect to your rout er. I f MAC filt ering is
enabled on your rout er, verify t hat t he MAC address of your PC Card or PCI
Adapter is allowed access to the rout er. You m ay need to add this MAC address
to your rout er.
5. I f your PC Card or PCI Adapter still cannot connect to your rout er, t ry a wired
connection bet ween your com put er and your router. Connect an Ethernet cable
bet ween your com put er's LAN port and a LAN port on your rout er. I f a wired
connection works, t he problem is alm ost cert ainly with your com put er's wireless
connection t o t he rout er. Try t he previous steps again.
I f you can verify t he connection bet ween your com put er and your rout er, it's likely t he
rout er is not connected t o the I nt ernet or is not functioning correctly. Refer t o your
rout er's docum ent at ion t o t roubleshoot your rout er's connection t o the Cable or DSL
m odem and to verify your m odem 's connection t o the I nt ernet .
Verify your modem's connection to the Internet
I f your com puter has a connection t o your rout er and t he I nternet connection
inform ation on your rout er is configured correctly but you still cannot connect t o t he
I nternet , it is possible that the cable or DSL m odem has lost it s connection or is not
functioning properly, or t here's a problem with your I SP.
