I have switched service providers from cable to DSL PPPoE; what do I do?
1. St art the router configurat ion pages by opening a Web browser and t yping
1 9 2 .1 6 8 .2 .1 and pressing ENTER.
2. Select the I nternet tab.
3. Select your connection t ype as DSL m ode m ( also know n as PPPoE) and enter
your User na m e and Passw ord.
4. You can specify a Disconnect tim eout . You will t hen need t o specify a
tim efram e. Selecting and set t ing a tim efram e will cause your I nternet connect ion
to be disconnect ed if your I nternet connect ion is not act ive for t he am ount of
tim e you specified.
5. Depending on your DSL I SP, you m ay need to ent er som e of the additional
inform at ion:
❍ The Se rvice N am e of your I nternet Service Provider.
❍ The MRU is t he largest packet size the rout er will allow a com puter on the
net work to receive. MRU st ands for Maxim um Receive Unit . I f your I SP
does not inst ruct you to change t his num ber, leave the default set ting of
1492.
❍ The MTU is the largest packet size the rout er will allow a com puter on the
net work to send. MTU st ands for Maxim um Transm ission Unit . I f your I SP
