Section 3: Operation
Operation and Use Questions
Call Generac Customer Service at 1-888-GENERAC (1-
888-436-3722) with questions or concerns about unit
operation and maintenance.
Before Starting Engine
IMPORTANT NOTE: Unit is shipped without oil. Add
engine oil before starting. See Adding Engine Oil for
instructions.
Before starting, complete the checklist below.
• Check engine oil level.
• Check fuel level.
• Check hydraulic fluid level.
• Inspect unit for damage.
• Verify control handle operates properly.
• Check tire pressure.
• Verify beam area and splitting wedge is free of
debris.
• Unit is positioned on firm, flat, and level ground.
• See Figure 3-1. When operating the unit, verify
operator is in an operator zone at all times.

Starting the Unit
1. See Before Starting Engine and complete the
checklist.
2. See Figure 3-2. Verify fuel shutoff valve (A) is set
to ON.

3. Set choke control lever (B) to CHOKE.
4. Set throttle control lever (C) to FAST.
