SERVICESPARKPLUG
Changingthe spark plug will helpyour engineto start easier and
run better.
1. Cleanareaaroundspark plug.
2. Removeandinspect spark plug (Figure33).
3. Check electrode gap with wire feeler gauge and reset
spark plug gap to recommended gap if necessary (see
Specifications).
4. Replacespark plugif electrodesarepitted, burnedor porcelain
is cracked. Use the recommended replacement plug. See
Specifications.
5. Install spark plugand tightenfirmly.

iNSPECTMUFFLERANDSPARKARRESTER
Inspect the muffler for cracks, corrosion, or other damage.
Removethe sparkarrestor,if equipped,andinspect for damageor
carbon blockage.If replacementparts are required,make sure to
use only originalequipmentreplacementparts.
Contactwith muffler area canresultin serious
burns.Exhaustheat/gasescan ignite
combustibles,structuresor damagefuel tank
causinga fire.
, DONOTtouchhotpartsandAVOIDhotexhaustgases.
* Allowequipmentto coolbeforetouching.
* Keepat least5 feet (152cm)of clearanceon allsidesof power
washerincludingoverhead.
* It is a violationof CaliforniaPublicResourceCode,Section4442,
to useoroperatetheengineonanyforest-covered,brush-covered,
orgrass-coveredlandunlesstheexhaustsystemis equippedwith
asparkarrester,asdefinedinSection4442,maintainedineffective
workingorder.Otherstatesorfederaljurisdictionsmayhavesimilar
laws.
Contactthe originalequipmentmanufacturer,retailer,or dealerto
obtaina sparkarresterdesignedfor the exhaustsysteminstalled
onthisengine.
* Replacementpartsmust bethe sameand installedin the same
positionasthe originalparts.
AFTEREACHUSE
Water should not remain in the unit for long periods of time.
Sedimentsor mineralscan depositon pump parts andfreezepump
action. Followthese proceduresafter every use:
1. Shut off engine, turn off water supply, point gun in a safe
direction, andsqueezetriggerto relievetrapped pressure,and
let enginecool.
The highpressurestreamof waterthat this equipment
producescancutthroughskinand its underlying
tissues,leadingto seriousinjury and possible
amputation.Spray guntrapshighwater pressure,even
whenengineisstoppedand water is disconnected,
whichcancauseinjury.
, Keephighpressurehoseconnectedto pumpandspraygunwhile
systemis pressurized.
* ALWAYSpoint spraygun in safe directionand squeezespray
guntrigger,to releasehighpressure,everytimeyou stopengine.
Engagetriggerlockwhennotin use.
2. Disconnecthosesfrom spray gunand high pressureoutleton
pump. Drainwater from hoses, spray gun, and lance. Usea
ragto wipe off the hose.
3. Empty pump of all pumpedliquids. Checkthat the engineON/
OFFswitch andfuel valvearein the OFFposition. Thenpullthe
recoil handleabout six times. Thisshould removemost liquid
in pump.
4. Store unit in a clean,dry area.
5. If storing for more than 30 days, see the LongTerm Storage
section.
