Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Replacing Carbon Canister
1. Remove the gas tank plate. See Removing and
Replacing Drive Belt
1. See Figure 4-14. Cut cable ties (A) securing
carbon canister and purge hose.

2. Slide hose clamps (B) away from hose connections
and twist hoses from canister.
3. Install hoses onto new carbon canister in same
location as on the old canister and position hose
clamps with pliers.
4. Slide new cable ties through canister brackets and
position canister onto brackets with the filter facing
down. Rotate canister if necessary.
5. Tighten cable clamps around canister and cut
excess with wire cutters.
6. Install a cable tie around the canister bracket and
purge hose to secure it to the carbon canister.
NOTE: Do not over tighten the cable tie.
Ball Hitch Receiver Adjustment
Ball Hitch Receiver Adjustment Check
1. See Figure 4-15. Place 2" ball in receiver socket
and close latch assembly. Verify locking trigger is
properly engaged in detent.

2. Try moving the ball in the socket. If ball moves
more than 1/16 in, the clamp requires adjustment.
Receiver Adjustment
1. See Figure 4-16. With 2" ball in receiver socket,
close receiver latch completely. Verify locking trig-
ger is engaged in detent.

2. Tighten lock nut (C) until spring (D) is fully com-
pressed, then back off the lock nut 1/2 turn or
enough that the latch can clamp and unclamp from
the ball.
