Power-On Self Test Failure
At power-on the Modem will carry out a number of tests to confirm the
operational integrity of various onboard components. If the top and bottom
signal strength LEDs are illuminated following power-on for 1 second then the
Modem is indicating a particular test has failed.
If LED(s) is/are illuminated for a period of 5 seconds followed by the modem
returning to normal operation then this indicates a warning that a non-critical
self-test has failed but will not hamper the operational capability of the
modem.
If a LED(s) is/are constantly illuminated following power-on then a critical self-
test has failed and the modem will not be initialized in order to protect against
possible damage to onboard components.
In both scenarios it is recommended the user switch off the modem and
contact
your Service Provider for
Technical Support.
Software Upgrade Warning
If the Modem display, in normal operation, flashes on and off at an interval of
2 seconds then the network is informing the user that a Modem software
upgrade is required.
Please refer to Appendix C for details on performing software upgrades.
