2. Intended use This product is dedicated to visualize the energy consumption of a private household. The consumption of energy is monitored independently from the electricity meter, for example via current transformers; attached to the individual life supply lines L1, L2 and L3. As access to the house wiring is necessary, this installation shall be performed only by an appropriate specialist.
. Safety instructions Any damage caused by not following these instructions will invalidate the warranty / guarantee! No warranty for consequential damages is given! For property damage or personal injury caused by improper use or failure to observe the safety, we accept no liability! In such cases, the warranty / guarantee expires! Dear Customer: The following safety information is intended not only for the protection of the device but also for the protection of your health.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the professional associations for electrical systems and equipment must be respected. • Other use than described herein may damage the product and is also associated with risks, such as short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. • If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, please contact us or another expert.
6. Product description With this product, the total power consumption of a private household is monitored and visualized. In addition, the product allows you to display daily balances. After configuration and eventual conversion of the parameters as advance payment, standing charge, etc., the display shows the current consumption of your budget and makes a forecast about the outcome at the end of the day.
. Display specifications The display has special features, which are described in more detail below. Consumption display: For a better visualization of the current electricity consumption in the home, the display has a consumption indicator similar to a speedometer. This gives the customer an understanding of what's happening in his home.
Power consumption SmartPlugs: Once the SmartPlugs were connected to the display (pairing), the power consumption is measured and displayed on a bar display. The individual bars are displayed when the following loads are exceeded: History information in the multi-function display: Recent consumption can be displayed individually for the total consumption at the transmitter and each of the SmartPlugs. The information is presented only in the multi-function display in the center of the screen.
9. Display and transmitter setup The display is described in a separate manual. This section covers the setup and configuration of the display and the transmitter. For these steps no expert is required. a) Step 1: Display setup • The included power supply unit has adapters for different countries. Please select the correct adapter. • The socket for the power supply cable can be found lateral at the bottom of the display housing. The display should start then immediately with the configuration mode.
10. Data identification and calculations The display will require the default, what your budget per day is. This information must be determined and calculated based on your latest electricity bill and the supply contract with your utility. When necessary, this calculation should be conducted with an appropriate specialist.
You should have availble now: 1. Budget per day: TARG: ________________ Eur/day e.g. 3,12 Euro/day 2. kilowatt-hour rate (HT): TARIFF1: ________________ Eurocent/kWh e.g. 21,4 Eurocent/day 3. Night tariff: TARIFF2: ________________ Eurocent/kWh e.g. 18,4 Eurocent/day 4. LT start time: T2_ON: ________________ h e.g. 22:00 h 5. LT end time: T2_OFF: ________________ h e.g. 06:00 h The capitalized words are variable names you will find on the display.
„TARIFF 2“ (NT/LT) If the tariff is offering a time-controlled switching between HT and LT, please set the 2nd tariff here (see „TARIFF1“). „T2 ON / T2 OFF“ („TARIFF 3“) Appears only when „TARIFF 2“ is set. Please enter the times for switching here. Example: T2 ON = 22:00 T2 OFF = 06:00 „TARIFF 3“ does not apply in Germany. „DISP ON / OFF“ Time to switch the display backlight on and off.
12. Current transformer installation The following steps shall be performed only by a qualified electrician. Unless the previous section was carried out by the customer already, you only need this section - in addition to the general safety information – to be respected by the professional. This step assumes that the previous chapter has been conducted successfully.
Important notices Current Transformer: • In case only one phase is to be measured, a current transformer can be connected to any socket. The other sockets must remain empty in this "single phase" operating mode. • The individual current transformers must be connected to different phases of a three phase system. If more current transformers are on the same phase, you will get faulty measurements. • Take particularly care that the locking of the current transformers snaps noticeably when closing.
13. Installation of the LED sensors This step assumes that the previous chapters have been conducted successfully. Step 1: For safety reasons, it should be checked whether a radio link between the display and transmitter is established (small box with connections for the current transformers). This is the case if the symbol shown on the display lights.
On the display you should see consumption now. If no consumption appears, please check cabling, control the radio link (see step 1 of this chapter), see the Troubleshooting section. The detection of light pulses may be impeded by exposure to light. It must be ensured that no light can impact between LED and sensor.
SmartPlugs 1 to 6: After the transmitter up to 6 SmartPlugs can be paired. With the right button you can scroll to each SmartPlug positions on the screen from left to right, and accordingly, the radio icon for this SmartPlug is displayed. If a SmartPlug has been linked already to a position, the wireless icon is continuously lighting, even when no connection to the device currently exists. If the position is still available, the radio icon then flashes and „PAIR ?“ is displayed.
15. Reset There are two ways to reset the display: • clear the memory • reset the wireless network For both options, first the display must be unplugged. Then press and hold the buttons „“ and „“ when recycling the power and thus starting the display. You are now in the display „RESET“ mode. All entries are sequential. Therefore, you will reach the next step only after you confirm (Y) the previous entry! Display „RSR?“ The display queries first the general settings (tariffs, time, etc ...
16. General notes • If the transmitter symbol on the display is not lighting permanently, a problem with the radio communication occurred. Connecting transmitter and display („PAIRING“) should be conducted again. • The voltage is measured with the SmartPlug number 1. Without SmartPlug the standard voltage is assumed. • Voltage and current phase is not measured exactly synchronous. It is assumed a regular household with miscellaneous consumption and a regular CosPhi by 1.
