For more information, see Wireless Radios. 7.
7.4 Workstation Communication To synchronize, Windows Mobile Device Center must be installed and configured for the appropriate communication type on the host workstation and the Terminal. Terminals ship with the software already installed. If WMDC has already been installed on the host workstation, you just need to connect the Terminal to the host workstation to initiate the communication. NOTE: You can download the most current version of Windows Mobile Device Center from www.microsoft.com.
7.11 Exploring the Terminal from the Workstation When the terminal and desktop computer are connected, open the main Windows Mobile window (on the desktop), and click File Management - browse the contents of your device. The Terminal is now treated as a mass storage device, and transferring files is as simple as dragging and dropping or copying and pasting as you would for moving files between folders on your hard drive. 7.
IF THE FILE IS NOT AN INSTALLER Some programs cannot be installed on workstations because they are designed exclusively for Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 Pro devices. In these cases, the appropriate files must be stored on the host workstation and transferred to the terminal via Windows Mobile. NOTE: If an error message stating that the program is valid but designed for a different type of computer appears when you try to install the program on the workstation, the program is not an installer. 1.
7.15 WLAN (802.11 b/g/n Radio) TERMINAL has a 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) radio that uses Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) technology. The radio is interoperable with other 802.11b/g/n, Wi-Fi compliant products including access points (APs), workstations via PC card adapters, and other wireless portable devices. By default, the 802.11b/g/n radio is poweredpress the vertical arrow (bottom right corner of screen) and select Turn Wireless LAN On.
WLAN CLIENT 8.1 Enabling the WLAN Radio The WLAN Driver must be enabled for the radio to transmit a signal. You cannot connect to a network unless the radio is enabled. There are two ways in order to enable WLAN Driver: WiFi Turned on/off from Wireless Manager and from PWC Control. 1. Start -> Setting -> Connections -> Wireless Manager > Select Wi-Fi. 2.
