Troubleshooting
The computer does not enter Sleep/Standby or Hibernation mode
immediately.
z If the computer is performing an operation, it normally waits for the
operation to finish.
The computer does not resume from Sleep/Standby or Hibernation
mode.
z The computer automatically enters Sleep/Standby or Hibernation mode
when the battery pack is empty. Do any one of the following:
− Connect the AC adapter to the computer.
− Replace the empty battery pack with a fully charged one.
The computer does not enter Hibernation mode with the Fn+F12 hot
keys.
z Make sure that the Hibernation function is specified for the sleep
button.
z You might be using a PC card that prevents the computer from entering
Hibernation mode. To enter the mode, stop the communication program
and then remove the card or stop the card.
Software Problems
An application program does not work correctly.
z Make sure that the software is correctly installed.
z If an error message appears on the screen, consult the software
program’s documentation for further information.
z If you are sure the operation has stop, reset the computer. (See
“Resetting the Computer” later in this chapter.)
Sound Problems
No sound is produced.
z Make sure that the volume control is not set too low.
