DEGBFRITPL
How it works
The motion detector works based on passive infrared
technology. Via a PIR sensor, the detector notices any heat
sources moving within its field of detection and switches
on automatically. Static heat sources do not trigger it. The
adjustable twilight switch lets you choose whether you have
the motion detector working day and night or only when it is
dark. The integrated timer also lets allows you adjust how long
the light stays on.
Safety information
To be fitted by qualified electricians only, observing all
standard national installation regulations.
No work to be carried out while live. Circuit trip switch
must therefore be switched off.
Check to make sure the connecting cable is not live!
All warranty claims will be null and void in the event of
any damage or loss caused by failure to observe these
operating instructions. We accept no liability for any
consequential losses or damage. We accept no liability
for any personal injury or material damage caused by
improper use or by failure to observe the safety advice. In such
cases all warranty claims will be null and void. For reasons of
safety and CE approval, no unauthorised conversion and/or
modification of the appliance is allowed.
Where to install
The light is best at detecting movement when this is at right
angles to the motion detector. Motion detectors should
therefore always be set up so that likely movement is not
directly towards them.
Installing the motion detector
Open the cover of the terminal box according to Fig. A - B.
Install the motion detector according to Fig. C - D. Connect
the mains connection cable as shown in the circuit diagram in
Fig. E. Connect the devices required, such as lights, via PE +
N + L’. Replace the terminal box cover (Fig. G). Switch circuit
protection back on.
Test mode/test run
This test mode/test run allows you to individually set the
desired field of detection.
Set the TIME controller to minimum and LUX to sun (fig. I). If
the motion detector is connected via a separate switch, switch
this on. The auto test then runs for 15 seconds during which
time the connected load is always activated. When the load
switches off, the test run starts. The load now switches on for
approx. 5 seconds whenever motion is detected, regardless of
the current lighting levels. This time is reset each time motion is
detected. The motion detector can be horizontally and vertically
adjusted (fig. H).
Once the motion detector has been adjusted, further settings
can be made.
Settings (fig. I)

Troubleshooting – Practical tips
Problem Cause Remedy
Motion detector switches Field of detection setting Adjust field of detection
the light on too late Movement from the front by turning the sensor
Motion detector fails to Motion detector is mounted too low Mount higher
achieve maximum range Difference in temperature between heat source and
surroundings is not big enough
Motion detector switches Constant thermal movement:
light on constantly There are areas within detection range that are
or when not necessary not supposed to be monitored, e.g. footpaths, roads,
trees etc. Unexpected changes in heat sources
caused by storms, rain or fans.
The influence of direct / indirect sunlight.
Fails to react to vehicles Vehicle has not warmed up
Engine area is very well insulated
