Quartzite Mineral

6.3 Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Approach suspected leak areas with caution. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Dike far ahead of
liquid spill or later disposal. Soak up with inert absorbent material. Take up mechanically, placing in appropriate
containers for disposal. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly. Prevent product from entering drains.
SECTION 7: Handling and storage
7.1 Precautions for safe handling
Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Use personal protective equipment as required. Wash hands at the end of
each work shift and before eating, smoking or using the toilet. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined
areas. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Keep away from heat, sparks and
flame. Containers, even those that have been emptied, can contain vapors. Do not cut, drill, weld, or perform similar
operations on or near empty containers. Avoid breathing vapor. Keep container closed. Provide readily accessible
eye wash stations and safety showers.
7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Keep in properly labeled containers. Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep from
freezing.

8.2 Appropriate engineering controls
Provide showers, eyewash stations and ventilation systems. Use local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering
controls to maintain airborne levels below exposure limit requirements or guidance. If there are no applicable
exposure limit requirements or guidelines, general ventilation should be sufficient for most operations. Local
exhaust ventilation may be necessary for some operations.
8.3 Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment (PPE)
Pictograms
Eye/face protection
Wear safety glasses with side shields or goggles.
Skin protection
Wear protective gloves and protective clothing. Use gloves chemically resistant to this material when prolonged or
frequently repeated contract could occur. When prolonged or frequent repeated contact could occur, use protective
clothing chemically resistant to this material.
Respiratory protection
Spraying increases the risk of hazardous exposure. In atmospheres where the material is sprayed, workers should
avoid contact with aerosols through proper engineering controls. If exposure limits are exceeded or irritation is
experienced, NIOSH/MSHA approved respiratory protection should be worn. Positive-pressure supplied air
respirators may be required for high airborne contaminant concentrations. Respiratory protection must be provided
in accordance with current local regulations. If there are no applicable exposure limit requirements or guidelines,
