ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SAVANNAH™ POST
Tools required to assemble mailbox: Phillips Screwdriver and Crescent Wrench or Pliers
1. Post Assembly
Fit Upper Post Section into Lower Post Section (Fig.1).
Press down until the connection is tight.
2. Mounting Hardware
Using two Washers (A), two 1-1/4” Screws (C) and two 3/8”
Locking Nuts (B), Attach the two Mailbox Mounting Brackets (E)
to the top of the Post Assembly as shown in Fig.2 & Fig.3.
3. Placing Post in Ground
The condition of the soil where you desire to place your Mailbox
Post will determine the method to use. If the soil is soft
you can use the method shown in Fig.4 or Fig.5. If the soil is
hard or compacted you may need to dig a hole. For the most
secure and permanent installation you should dig a hole and
set the post in concrete. Check with your local Postmaster to
find out the required height your mailbox must be above the
road surface.
4. Mounting Mailbox
After the Post is secure in the ground attach your mailbox using
four Washers (A), four 5/8” Screws (D) and four 3/8” Locking
Nuts (B). These will work on most all #1 size rural boxes. For
larger mailboxes you will need to use longer screws (not includ-
ed).
Read instructions before proceeding with assembly. Check parts list to be sure all parts and hardware are included.

OSTAL PATRONS ARE REQUIRED TO CONTACT THE LOCAL POST OFFICE BEFORE INSTALLING THE MAILBOX TO ENSURE ITS CORRECT PLACEMENT AND HEIGHT FROM THE

TREET. GENERALLY, MAILBOXES ARE INSTALLED AT A HEIGHT OF 41-45 INCHES FROM THE ROAD SURFACE TO INSIDE FLOOR OF THE MAILBOX AND ARE SET BACK 6-8 INCH-
ES FROM THE FRONT FACE OF CURB OR ROAD EDGE TO THE MAILBOX DOOR..
HARDWARE PACK INCLUDES:
A. 1/2” Washer (6)
B. 3/8” Locking Nut (6)
C. 1-1/4” Phillips Head Screw (6)
D. 5/8” Phillips Head Screw (4)
E. Mailbox Mounting Bracket (2)
