Configuring settings for the local network

Preferred DNS Server:
Enter the IP address for the preferred DNS server. DNS (Domain Name System) allows you
to assign public IP addresses to symbolic names. The DNS server is required to convert the
DNS name into the IP address when a connection is being established to a server.
You can specify the IP address for your router/gateway here. This forwards address
requests from the phone to its DNS server.
There is no default setting for a DNS server.
Alternate DNS Server:
Enter the IP address for the alternate DNS server that should be used in situations where
the preferred DNS server cannot be reached.

Once all the settings are complete, press the display key
§§Save§§
to save the configuration
settings.
IPv6 configuration
IP Address Type:

Select Automatic Scan if your device
receives the IP address via a DHCP
server. Select Static if your device
receives a fixed IP address.
If the Automatic Scan setting is selected, all
further settings are automatically configured.
They are displayed here and cannot be
changed.
If you have selected Static as the address
type, you must now create the following set-
tings:

Preferred DNS Server
–Alternate DNS Server

work settings.
