Closed Loop Bracket for TrashTalk™
Flat Top Trash Cans
Find a flat section of the trash can cover. Some
versions of this top may have supporting
brackets on the underside of the lid. Avoid
these. Adhere the Sensor to a flat spot, so that
the entire back of the bracket is touching the
lid. Leave at least a ½ an inch of free space on
both sides of the sensor. Orient so that the "eye"
of the sensor is close to the inner circle and
facing away from the outer edge. See diagram.
Place the sensor so that the base is no closer
than ½ an inch from the sensor. Place the
bracket so that the sensor "eye" is closer to the
edge, across from the opening door to the trash
can. See diagram
Plastic Round Trash Cans Tops
Imagine a line going from one corner
diagonally across to the opposite corner. Some
versions of these tops have such a line molded
into the plastic. Place the sensor 3" away from
this line. Place the sensor so that the bracket
is parallel with this line, and place it so that
the "eye" of the sensor is far from the line. See
diagram.

The Rain Covered Tops for these trash cans
come with three supports that form a triangle
shape on the underside of the Top. Nest the
Bracket tangentially along the inner ring, in
between two of the supports, where they come
together to make an angle. Orient so that the
"eye" of the sensor is close to the inner circle
and facing away from the outer edge. See
diagram.
