• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. • When operating a power tool outdoors, use an outdoor extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. Personal safety • Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool.
Power tool use and care • Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. • Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. • Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
• Do not get distracted and always concentrate on what you are doing. Use common sense. Never operate the tool when you are tired, sick or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. • Do not operate this appliance with long loose hair or loose fitting jewellery. Tie long loose hair back and remove loose fitting jewellery. • Do not allow the garden vac to pick up any burning or smouldering materials like ashes, cigarette butts etc.

Preparation of the blower vac prior to use To fit the collection bag The BLV8000A blower vac requires some assembly prior to use for the first time. This includes extending of the teloscopic blower vac tube, fitting of the collection bag and fitting of the shoulder strap to the housing. WARNING. Never operate the vacuum without the collection bag attached. Note. Always make sure the bag zipper is closed when the unit is in use. For use as a vacuum, the collection bag (5) must be fitted.
Shoulder strap Turning the blower vac ON Your BLV8000A blower vac is supplied with a shoulder strap to improve user comfort during use. The strap assembly can be fitted or removed from the top of the housing via the metal buckle on the end of the strap. 1. To fit the shoulder strap (11), simply open the buckle on the strap and fit it through the hole provided on the housing of the blower/vac. 1. Plug the power cord into an approved electrical extension cord, and turn the extension cord on. 2.
1. To fit the extension cord to the support, make a tight loop in the extension cord, approximately 300mm from the socket on the extension cord. 2. Fit the loop into the cord support (6)located on the power cord of the blower/vac. 3. Push the loop all the way through the cord support (6) by approximately 25mm. Selecting the vacuum operation 1. Push the selector lever (2) up. You will hear a loud click as it goes into place. Note.
Tips for using your blower vac Maintenance and storage information The following points may assist you in the operation of the blower vac. • Always try and vacuum dry leaves, cuttings or general garden debris. • Wet material is difficult to mulch and also can cause the blower vac to clog. • If the leaves etc. are damp, then use the blower vac in blow selection to pile the leaves etc. into one area, vac and mulch the leaves when dry.
