Introduction Description of symbols Your new GMC power tool will more than satisfy your expectations. It has been manufactured under stringent GMC Quality Standards to meet superior performance criteria. You will find your new tool easy and safe to operate, and, with proper care, it will give you many years of dependable service. CAUTION. Carefully read through this entire Instruction Manual before using your new GMC Power Tool. Take special care to heed the Cautions and Warnings.
3. Personal safety a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. b. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. c.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. e. Maintain power tools.
• Rags, cloths, cord, string and the like should never be left around the work area. • Support the work properly. • If you are interrupted when operating, complete the process and switch off before looking up. • Periodically check that all nuts, bolts and other fixings are properly tightened. • When using the screwdriver, use safety equipment including safety glasses or shield, ear defenders, and protective clothing including safety gloves.
• Do not use the charger if it has been subjected to a heavy knock, dropped or otherwise damaged in anyway. Take the charger to an authorised service centre for a check or repair. • Do not disassemble the charger. Phone and speak with an experienced GMC Customer Service Representative or contact an Authorised Service centre for assistance. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect reassembly can cause electric shock when you use the tool or charger again.
When to charge the tool • New tools are shipped in a low charge condition and must be fully charged before use. It takes approximately 45 seconds to fully charge the tool. • Charging the tool should not be undertaken casually. Through the charging cycle monitor the tool and make sure that screwdriver is charging. This can be done by reviewing the charging process indicators (6) and the charge cycle completed indicator (5). Note. You may use the screwdriver at any time.
Know your product This screw driver is for light to medium applications of screws and small nuts and bolts. If the screw driver is unable to rotate the fastener do not over load by holding the switch in the on position and manually rotating the fastener. 1. Chuck/Bit retainer 2. Handle adjusting switch 3. 2. Plug in the charger and switch on at the power supply. The power on indicators (10) will glow signalling that the charger has power connected to it. The screwdriver will now begin charging. While the screwdriver is charging the charging indicators (6) will glow signalling that the screwdriver is in the charging process. When the screwdriver charging process is complete the charge cycle completed indicator (5) will glow advising that the charge cycle has been completed. Note.
The forward mode is used for drilling and tightening screws. The reverse mode is intended for the removal of screws and assisting to remove jammed drill bits. To obtain the best life for the tool The screwdriver should be placed on charge when ever the tool no longer can perform tasks previously achieved. Do Not completely run down the charge. DO NOT continue to use the screwdriver when the charge is exhausted.
Inserting and removing bits 1. Select an appropriate bit and Insert it into the hexagonal hole in the chuck/bit retainer (1). The screwdriver is now ready for use. 2. To remove the screwdriver bit you simply remove the existing bit by pulling the bit out of the chuck/bit retainer (1). Maintenance • Store the tools, instruction manual and where necessary the accessories in the original packaging. In this way you will always have all the information and parts on hand.
