Installation Instructions for Acoustic Decoupler
Installing Under Floating Floors:
1. Make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and flat.
2. Decoupler may be installed parallel or perpendicular to flooring.
3. Decoupler is loose laid, not glued to sub-floor. Always install black rubber side face down.
4. Decoupler seams must be placed tightly together and taped with duct tape.
5. Once decoupler is installed and all seams are taped, install floating floor per manufacturers
instructions. (Start with groove side against one side of the room with proper gap space, lay and tap
floor together, etc.)
Installing Under Carpet:
1. Make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and flat.
2. Decoupler is loose laid, not glued to sub-floor. Always install black rubber side face down.
3. Decoupler seams must be placed tightly together and taped with duct tape.
4. Once decoupler is rolled out and the seams are taped, install carpet tack strips, carpet pad and
carpet per manufacturers recommendations.
