Congratulations on choosing
the Golden Age Project D1
microphone!
The D1 is a high quality dynamic
microphone with vintage styling
and modern acoustic tech -
nology. It´s marked presence
peak results in a forward and
distinctive sound that is very
well suited to vocals and many
instruments.
The D1 has a cardioid polar
pattern which reduces feed-
back effectively. The ON / OFF
switch is very useful for stage /
live sound applications and it is
totally noise free and can also
be securely locked in the ON
position for unexpected inter-
ruptions in the performance.
The 5/8 thread adator in the
stand adaptor matches different
stand gauges.
The D1 is a versatile microp-
hone that will perform very well
at the stage, in the studio or for
broadcasting applications

The D1 can be used with any standard mixer or
preamp. Use either a XLR to XLR or XLR to 1/4 plug
low impedance cable.
When mounting the D1 to the stand you may need
to remove the threaded adapter from the mic holder,
depending on the threading of the mic stand.
Be aware of the proximity effect (an increase in bass
response) when the mic is close to the sound source.
This can be a good or a bad thing. You can adjust the
bass response by changing the distance from the mic
to the sound source for an optimum result in different
applications.
If the microphone is placed close to a speaker during
live stage use, feedback may occur. Since the D1 has
a cardioid pickup pattern, it will mainly pickup sound
coming from the front of the mic. The risk for feedback
is therefor greatly reduced.
PRECAUTION S
- Be careful not to drop the D1 or subject it to shock
since this can destroy the sensitive cartridge.
- Store and transport the D1 in it´s padded case.
- Keep the D1 away from extremely high temperatures
(60 degrees) and humidity. Do not leave it in direct
sunlight.
- When using the D1 outdoors, avoid getting it wet.
- After high-moisture applications such as stage per-
formance, wipe off the D1 with a dry cloth and permit
it to air dry. Do not store it in a closed space like a
plastic bag until all moisture has evaporated.
