Flexible liners should be hung st raight or nearly st raight . If it is spiraled in t he chimney and in good condit ion, it should be rehung. To do t his, break t he top seal; pull up and cut off t he excess liner lengt h, and refit t he top seal. Use caut ion w hen doing t his, as t he cut edges of flexible liners may be sharp. The surfaces of t he liner must be physically sound. If gaps or holes are present , t he met al liner must be removed and replaced (Fix 4).

CIRCULATING AIR AND FILTERS When t he furnace is heat ing, t he t emperat ure of t he ret urn air entering t he furnace must be bet w een 55°F and 100°F. DUCTW ORK - AIR FLOW When a furnace is inst alled so t hat supply duct s carry air circulat ed by t he furnace t o areas out side t he space cont aining t he furnace, t he ret urn air shall also be handled by a duct sealed t o t he furnace casing and t erminat ing out side t he space cont aining t he furnace.

Consider inst alling an air cleaner w it h deep-pleat ed media filt er at t he t ime of furnace inst allat ion. A deep-pleat ed filt er w it h a M ERV rat ing of 8 (minimum) w ill oft en provide bet t er filt rat ion t o prot ect equipment and t he air dist ribut ion syst em t han a st andard 1" filt er and often has lower stat ic pressure loss t han a 1" filter. Also a deep-pleated filter w ill t ypically require less frequent replacement intervals.

HEATING M ODE • Furnace is now operat ing in high-st age heat ing mode. (M ODE DIP SW ITCH IS SET TO “1 STG” POSITION ) • R and W t hermost at cont act s open, complet ing t he call for heat. FURNACE SHUTDOW N START-UP PROCEDURE AND ADJUSTM ENT 1. Set t he t hermost at t o low est set t ing. Furnace must have a 115 VAC power supply properly connected and grounded. Proper polarit y must be maint ained for correct operat ion. An int erlock sw it ch prevent s furnace operat ion if t he blow er door is not in place. Keep t he blow er access door in place except for inspect ion and maint enance. This furnace is also equipped w it h a self-diagnosing elect ronic cont rol module.

The installer w ill supply filt er(s) at t he t ime of inst allat ion. BURNERS Improper filt er maint enance is t he most common cause of inadequat e heat ing or cooling performance.
