NSPECTION

Always keep the unit upright; laying the unit on its side or top may

cause equipment damage. Shipping damage, and subsequent in-

vestigation is the responsibility of the carrier. Verify the model

number, specifications, electrical characteristics, and accessories

are correct prior to installation. The distributor or manufacturer

will not accept claims from dealers for transportation damage or

installation of incorrectly shipped units.

This product is designed and manufactured to comply with na-

tional codes. Installation in accordance with such codes and/or

prevailing local codes/regulations is the responsibility of the in-

staller. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for equip-

ment installed in violation of any codes or regulations. Rated

performance is achieved after 72 hours of operation. Rated per-

formance is delivered at the specified airflow. See outdoor unit

specification sheet for split system models or product specifica-

tion sheet for packaged and light commercial models. Specifica-

tion sheets can be found at www.goodmanmfg.com for Goodman

brand products or www.amana-hac.com for Amana

brand prod-

ucts. Within either website, please select the residential or com-

mercial products menu and then select the submenu for the type

of product to be installed, such as air conditioners or heat pumps,

If replacing a condensing unit or air handler, the system must be manufacturer approved and Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) matched. NOTE: Installation of unmatched systems is strongly discouraged. Ensure the thermometer makes adequate contact and is insulated for best possible readings. Use liquid line temperature to determine sub-cooling and vapor temperature to determine superheat. d.

CONTROL WIRING Any consecutively repeated fault is stored a maximum of three times. Example: The power supply to the air conditioner/heat pump is continuously below 187 VAC. The control will only store this fault the first three consecutive times the fault occurs. NOTE: Refer to Electrical Connections - High Voltage Connections for 208/230 volt line connections to the air conditioner. NOTE: A removable plug connector is provided with the control to make thermostat wire connections.

• Profile D ramps up to 50% of the demand for 1/2 minute, then ramps to 82% of the full cooling demand airflow and operates there for approximately 7 1/2 minutes. The motor then steps up to the full demand airflow. Profile D has a 1/2 minute at 50% airflow OFF delay. SPLIT SYSTEMS AIR CONDITIONING AND HEAT PUMP HOMEOWNER’S ROUTINE MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS We strongly recommend a bi-annual maintenance checkup be performed before the heating and cooling seasons begin by a qualified servicer. Likewise, it is important to keep the outdoor coil clean. Dirt, leaves, or debris could also restrict the airflow. If cleaning of the outdoor coil becomes necessary, hire a qualified servicer. Inexperienced people could easily puncture the tubing in the coil.
